LivU Online Video Chat

Can you use LivU online? The LivU app does list the web as an option alongside Android and iOS, though most people use it on their phone. Below is what we know about it, plus a quicker way to video chat from a browser tab.

livuapp.cc is an independent website. This isn’t the LivU app’s login page, and we’re not affiliated with the LivU app.

How LivU online chat works

The LivU app matches you with random people for 1-on-1 video calls. It’s mainly a mobile app, but its official site lists the web as a platform too. That’s why so many people search for “LivU online chat”: they’d like to use it on a laptop, or skip the install on their phone.

We can’t tell you exactly what the web version supports, because that’s up to the developer and it changes. The official site or help pages will have the current details.

Getting started

How to use the LivU app online, step by step

If you want to try the LivU app on the web, this is usually how it goes.

  1. 1
    Find the official site

Open it from the LivU app’s official website or app store listing. Sites with similar names, including this one, aren’t the LivU app.

  2. 2
    Sign in or sign up

You’ll need a LivU app account before you can chat.

  3. 3
    Allow camera and microphone

The browser will ask for permission. Video won’t work until you say yes.

  4. 4
    Start matching

Once you’re signed in you can start a match. What’s available depends on the current web version.

Troubleshooting

Camera or mic not working in your browser?

These fixes work on most video chat sites, ours and the LivU app included.

Check the permission

Click the camera or padlock icon next to the address bar and set camera and microphone to Allow.

Close other video apps

Zoom, Teams or another tab can hang on to the camera. Close them, then reload.

Update your browser

Old browser versions cause a lot of camera problems. Update, or try Chrome or Safari instead.

Check your connection

Weak Wi-Fi is the usual reason video freezes. Move closer to the router or switch networks.

Check system settings

Mac and Windows can both block the browser from using the camera. Look under Privacy in your system settings.

Reload the page

The browser often won’t pick up a new setting until you refresh.

Browser-first

Want to chat directly in your browser?

If you’d rather not install anything, livuapp.cc works in any browser, on a phone or a computer.

  • One click to start. There’s nothing to fill in first.
  • Works on phones. Safari or Chrome is all you need.
  • See your match first. A short preview, then talk or skip.
  • Free to start. Try it before you pay for anything.

LivU online questions

Can you use LivU online?

The LivU app is built for mobile, so on a phone most people just use the app. If you’d rather not install anything, a browser-based service like livuapp.cc is simpler.

No. We’re an independent site. We explain how the LivU app works and run our own browser video chat, but we’re not run by, affiliated with or endorsed by the LivU app or its developer.

Do I need an account to video chat on livuapp.cc?

Not one you have to make. An account is set up for you automatically when you press start.

Why does the browser ask for my camera and microphone?

Browsers won’t let a site use your camera or mic without asking. You can allow it for one site only and switch it off again in your browser settings.

Which browsers work best for online video chat?

Up-to-date Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox all handle video chat well. Most camera and connection problems go away after an update.
